1. The Income tax department completed 150 years in India , therefore on this occasion Indian Government Mint issued a commemorative coin .

2. This coin was minted from all mints in India .

3. Both proof set and common circulating commemorative coins were issued .


4. The coin had a portrait of Chanakya on the reverse side ,therefore some people call it 5 rupees Chanakya coin .

5. Description or Specification of coin :-

a. Minting Year - 2010
b.  Metal - nickel- brass
c.  Weight - 6gms 
d. Size - 23mm



6. The coin was minted by all four mints :- Bombay ,Noida, Kolkata and Hyderabad Mint .


7. The main confusion is being arrised when it comes to its value , most of the people think its a very rare coin with high value .


8. There are many videos on youtube quoting it's value very high by which innocent people having least knowledge of Numismatics get confused about its value .

9. If we talk about its value it's only approx  7 to 10 rupees each in UNC condition . In used or running condition its only equal to its face value which is 5 rupees .
